Yahoo and Nokia Collaborate

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Currently Yahoo, which is a global search engine, falls slightly short compared to Google’s search engine.  However, Yahoo and Nokia have just announced that they will be collaborating on a web based app services program which will be used on mobile web apps globally.  Currently, Google’s leading stance in the mobile market is significant, however; with Yahoo and Nokia’s collaboration, this will lead to a stronger position to both Yahoo and Nokia individually and together.  Both Yahoo and Nokia customers will receive great benefits and ease with the use of the benefits from this new venture.  For example, Nokia will be updated by Yahoo and Yahoo maps will be updated by Nokia.  Time will tell to see where this leads to, how the transition will proceed, if Yahoo and Nokia will meet their expectations, and how Google will respond to gain their ground again.

The Best of Internet Service Providers in My Area

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

I was looking for internet service providers in my area, and I found the easiest thing to do was to go online and compare them. Finding a blog/website where I could compare the popular plans side by side really helped.  I really focus on speed when I am online, and so it was good to see what plans are available, and what they cost.  It’s also great to factor in all the incentives, such as free modems, free wi-fi, and cash back offers.  The single most important thing to me is the cost and speed – if I can bundle services together and save money and get a high quality product, that is really the best of all!

How Fast are High Speed Internet Providers in My Area

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

A search of high speed internet providers in my area didn’t turn up the ultra fast fiber optic services, but I did find that AT&T and Verizon have great plans and high speed DSL.    This was a great thing to compare the plans side by side between those companies, and with local providers as well.   Speed is important to me, but I wanted it at a reasonable cost.  So it was great to compare these side by side.  I found that the best price was available  with a bundle.  This would not have worked for me if I were not ready to have a two year contract, but I am staying put, so it was fine.
