Finding Value In Verizon FiOS Promotions

Wednesday, August 21st, 2013

During times when managing incoming bills can seem like it’s getting more and more difficult, it can be a relief to know that there are still companies which are devoted to helping the consumer to save money. One such company is Verizon. They offer promotions on a regular basis. But these money-saving discounts are not like the ones you may have seen on TV or elsewhere. In fact, there are many promotions offered by internet companies which may not appear in offline publications at all. In Verizon’s case, their focus remains on the provision of an internet connection that is reliable for customers.

But how much does this reliable connection cost? That depends on a few things, including whether or not you are a new Verizon customer. New customers can take advantage of exclusive online offers which could see them paying less for their internet, phone and television services for as many as 12 months at a time. Of course, the deal a customer lands will depend on when they visit the site. But any consumer wanting or needing to change providers can easily see how Verizon FiOS promotions compare to what others are offering. All it takes is to use a reliable resource site that compares all companies.

Verizon Internet Service Continues To Make Progress With Fiber Migration

Wednesday, August 14th, 2013

At least one internet company is promising to exceed its migration estimations for this year. Verizon says that not only will its wireline margins improve, but also that its migrations from copper to fiber will exceed 300,000 in 2013, leaving it on track for the provider`s estimations. The company’s FiOS product is where its customers will be headed after copper connections are closed. In just the second quarter, Verizon managed to convert over eighty thousand customers to its fiber FiOS offering, giving customers access to faster internet speeds as well as expanded TV offerings. In areas where copper infrastructure damage has occurred due to hurricanes, the company has replaced copper infrastructure with fiber.

In other areas, the company offers both fiber and copper services, as they are required to do so by current regulations. However, Verizon internet service is experiencing issues with how to improve the margins of its wireline products, as they remain low. However, there are new products on the horizon which will allow the company to create a new foundation for growth. The news came out of Boston, from Fran Shammo, Verizon CFO and EVP at the 16th Annual Technology, internt and Communciations Conference put on by Oppenheimer.

How To Handle A Software Update Failure

Wednesday, August 7th, 2013

When you receive an update for software that’s installed on your computer, it means that the developers of that software have taken measures to block more sophisticated malware attacks. This is why so many computer experts stress the importance of updating software. But sometimes, these updates can fail, leaving us not knowing what to do next. The reason for the error could either be because the updater software itself has failed, or the fact that the user is not on their computer as an Administrator. The updater software may be able to be repaired by navigating to the Control Panel, and then Programs and Features. Once the updater program has been located, pressing the “Repair” button will begin the process. And then, a restart of the computer is recommended before trying to update software anew.

Windows User Account Control Settings are where the adjustment to Administrator can be accomplished. They can be found by navigating to the Control Panel from the Start Menu, and then choosing “User Accounts”. Folder attributes can also be changed so that all user levels are able to access them, which can also solve software update issues. Users can also type in the error itself into a search engine to see what other solutions may be available.
