About Widescreen Advocate

Widescreen Advocate is a not-for-profit group of film enthusiasts dedicated to preserving the artistic integrity of cinema. We believe that movies are works of art and should never be cropped when transferred to home video or streaming platforms. While this site serves as a historical record of the community that fought to make Original Aspect Ratio (OAR) the physical media standard, we have relaunched to combat the modern threat of the 16x9 digital crop.

Joshua Clinard Co-founder, Owner & Webmaster

Joshua is a technology integrator and web developer operating Abilene Tech Guy. He spearheaded the 3.0 modernization of the site, transitioning it from its legacy HTML and WordPress origins into the active, dynamic platform you see today.

Eric M Jones Co-founder & Lead Designer

Eric is a veteran designer and tech professional who provided the original graphic design and layout for the Widescreen Advocate. Beyond his work for the OAR movement, he is an accomplished woodworker specializing in custom speaker design.
